Alberto Paloschi could be on his way back to Serie A. The striker left Chievo last January to join Swansea, and now Atalanta has identified him as the right reinforcement for new coach Gasperini's squad. Atalanta has reached an agreement with Swansea on the basis of €7.5 million, they have offered Paloschi a six year deal with a salary of €1.5 million net of taxes plus bonuses. It will now be up to Paloschi to decide if he will accept the destination, but Atalanta is taking concrete steps to sign him.

Former Southampton manager Lawrie McMenemy
believes the club should appoint a British manager
once Ronald Koeman completes his move to
Everton.
The Dutchman has been at St Mary's for two season
since replacing Mauricio Pochettino but is odds-on
favourite to succeed Roberto Martinez at Goodison
Park.
McMenemy, who guided the Saints to the 1976 FA
Cup and a second place berth in the old First
Division, suggested the club should look toward
Eddie Howe, Mark Hughes, Alan Pardew or Steve
Bruce.
Writing for the Southampton Echo, McMenemy said:
“Hand on heart, certainly with the experience we
have had with our last two managers and what is
happening elsewhere, I would like to see a British
manager."
