New GM Masai Ujiri called Jonas Valanciunas a "huge piece" of the franchise.
Masai Ujiri might not keep Dwane Casey, after all

        Adrian Wojnarowski ‏(@WojYahooNBA):
Denver has parted ways with coach George Karl, league source tells Yahoo! Sports.
Karl will not be brought back for the final year of his contract, source tells Y! Sports. He was informed this morning.
In final year of deal, Karl was pushing for a contract extension, and ownership wasn't prepared to give it to him, source tells Y!
Denver believes it can attract an elite coach with its roster; simply didn't want to deal with an unhappy Karl in final year of contract.

Odmah posle poraza od GSW ga je trebalo otpustiti.
It is not the violence that sets a man apart.
It's the distance he's prepared to go.

Sacramento has requested permission to speak to Denver executive Pete D'Alessandro for Kings GM job, sources tell Y! No approval yet.
Whether the Toronto coaching job opens this summer -- or next -- rule out George Karl as a candidate for Masai Ujiri, league sources tell Y!
As Brooklyn's coaching search remains focused on Indiana assistant Brian Shaw, the Nets will not pursue George Karl, league sources tell Y!

Report: Doc, KG, Pierce uncertain to return

There has not been a "final decision" made on either Doc Rivers or Kevin Garnett next season.
GM Danny Ainge said Rivers was set to return, and although Rivers is working with the team on next year's roster, he hasn't come out and flatly said he'll be back, so the speculation about his future will continue. Meanwhile, Garnett is unlikely to make his decision until he sees what happens with the Celtics during the offseason, specifically in regards to Paul Pierce. The Herald also notes nothing has been determined on Pierce's looming contract decision, either. Things could get really interesting for Boston in the offseason.
